IL POZZO BINDU

Fermare il tempo e girarci intorno.

L'antico pozzo è nel giardino della casa in cui abito, in fronte alla porta di ingresso.

La prima immagine esterna che si presenta ai miei occhi ogni giorno quando esco.

Bindu, la fonte della creazione, è un luogo misterioso,

su cui esiste poco materiale anche nella tradizione tantrica.

Secondo i testi,

è il magazzino di tutto il karma accumulato nelle vite precedenti, di tutte le tendenze inconsce, di tutti i ricordi.

In sanscrito, bindu significa punto o goccia.

Dall'immagine del pozzo, la luce come goccia si proietta in un microscopico punto, fino alle tenebre sensibili della pellicola.

L'apparecchio fotografico è stato realizzato da Florian Kaps e Achim Heine in pochi esemplari nel 2014 in Austria. Consiste in un alloggio per il caricatore che contiene 8 polaroid, di un soffietto di gomma estendibile in sei lunghezze focali e in due fori stenopeici di diametro differente.

La durata del tempo di posa si ottiene misurando la luce con un esposimetro e usando come parametri la sensibilità del film e l'apertura f/57. La macchina fotografica è corredata di una tabella per moltiplicare il tempo di esposizione, in relazione alla scelta dello stenope e dell'estensione del soffietto, e calcolare quindi il corretto periodo che deve trascorrere dall'inizio dell'apertura del foro alla sua chiusura. Sono quindi istantanee 'lunghe' ottenute con scatti che possono variare da alcuni secondi a diversi minuti. La pellicola Polaroid a sua volta, nella sua immediatezza, processa il film e genera l'immagine in un breve lasso di tempo. Ogni fotografia si è appropriata lentamente del suo spazio.

Il processo tecnico avviene quindi con un metodo primordiale, la camera ottica, e si avvale di un 'nuovo' sistema, inventato dall'americano Edwin Land tra il 1950 e il 1970, che produce un originale positivo istantaneo, senza negativo. La trasformazione digitale avviene attraverso l'elaborazione dell'originale polaroid in byte e la successiva stampa a otto colori ink-jet su carta cotone. Dal momento della scansione, nonostante l'estesa monocromia, talvolta, colorati anelli di Newton volteggiano in sospensione o nascosti, sottili imprevedibili spettri cromatici.

Coronavirus tra il 2020 e il 2021.

THE BINDU WELL

Stopping time and walking around it.

The ancient well is in the garden of the house where I live, in front of the entrance door.

The first external image that appears before my eyes every day when I go out.

Bindu, the source of creation, is a mysterious place,

on which there is little material even in the tantric tradition.

According to the texts,

it is the storehouse of all the karma accumulated in previous lives, of all unconscious tendencies, of all memories.

In Sanskrit, bindu means point or drop.

From the image of the well, the light as a drop is projected into a microscopic point, up to the sensitive darkness of the film.

The photographic device was made by Florian Kaps and Achim Heine in a few copies in 2014 in Austria. It consists of a housing for the magazine that holds 8 Polaroids, a rubber bellows extendable in six focal lengths and two pinholes of different diameters.

The duration of the exposure time is obtained by measuring the light with a light meter and using the sensitivity of the film and the aperture f/57 as parameters. The camera is equipped with a table to multiply the exposure time, in relation to the choice of pinhole and the extension of the bellows, and therefore calculate the correct period that must pass from the beginning of the opening of the hole to its closing. They are therefore 'long' snapshots obtained with shots that can vary from a few seconds to several minutes. The Polaroid film in turn, in its immediacy, processes the film and generates the image in a short period of time.

Each photograph has slowly appropriated its space.

The technical process therefore takes place with a primordial method, the optical camera, and uses a 'new' system, invented by the American Edwin Land between 1950 and 1970, which produces an original instant positive, without a negative. The digital transformation occurs through the processing of the original Polaroid in bytes and the subsequent eight-color ink-jet print on cotton paper. From the moment of scanning, despite the extensive monochrome, sometimes, colored Newton rings hover in suspension or hidden, thin unpredictable color spectra.

The complete series consists of 23 images taken during the Coronavirus lockdown period between 2020 and 2021.
